Once the haunt of river pirates, this famous Cave is now part of Cave-in-Rock State Park. The town of Cave-in-Rock is less than a stone's throw away.

A pirate's eye view of the Ohio River from the interior of the Cave. Today no keel boats or flatboats are to be seen on the river, but the view is otherwise pretty much that which the pirates beheld during their heyday.

A young brave cooling off at Indian Kitchen on Lusk Creek. Near Eddieville, in Pope County, it takes a four mile walk to enjoy a refreshing dip at this site.

Beech Hollow is one of our most spectacular, but least-known, places where few people tread. Much of it is on private land. Here a couple of trespassers enjoy the natural wonders of the site. Located in Saline County.

Beech Hollow provides many places for quiet reflection.

A forested mountainside on Kauai? No — this is a miniature moss forest covering a cliff face in Beech Hollow.
